Google Talk is the new instant messaging option with which the popular search engine intends to get even closer to its most direct competitors (Yahoo, Microsoft and America Online).
Google is undergoing a transformation that will be completed in the coming weeks with the new version of its search engine from which you can access the usual searches with improved algorithms also incorporating an app to view news, stock exchanges or weather forecasts.
Google Talk marks a new expansion in the field of text and voice communications as it incorporates a new service similar to Skype (VoIP) allowing free calls to be made via PC. In addition, the program incorporates a service for text conversations similar to MSN Messenger.
The program is currently in the testing phase and a Gmail account must be registered in order to use it. All the contacts in your Gmail account will be added directly to this app so that you can talk to all of them without having to insert them individually.
Google Talk is compatible with Apple's iChat, Gaim, Adium, Trillian Pro and Psi, because all these apps share Jabber technology. However, the program is not compatible with Microsoft's messaging network (Hotmail) or with Yahoo and the like.
